Honorary Consul General Eugene F. Megyesy, Jr.

The Honorable Eugene F. Megyesy is Honorary Consul General of Hungary for Colorado and Wyoming.  Mr. Megyesy has served in this position since 1994.  Mr. Megyesy is presently a Director at Dufford & Brown, P.C., where he represents corporate, municipal, and private clients in all aspects of environmental regulation.  He also represents clients in Central Europe.  Past positions he has held include President and Shareholder at Saunders, Snyder, Ross & Dickson, P.C.; Assistant Regional Counsel for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; and Assistant Attorney General for the State of Colorado.  Mr. Megyesy is actively involved in community and civic affairs.

Mr. Megyesy studied at University of Vienna, holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a law degree from the University of Denver.  Mr. Megyesy was born in Budapest, Hungary and escaped after the 1956 Revolution.  He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam where he received a Bronze Star.  Mr. Megyesy is fluent in Hungarian and German.
